Eucharistic & Sunday Morning Ministries

The word "liturgy" means the work of the people. The priest presides over the "work" of the whole community when we gather on Sunday mornings and other times for the Holy Eucharist. The entire gathered community participates in our services. Parishioners are called upon for particular roles of leadership.

Liturgical ministries

Acolytes

Acolytes assist the Presider at all worship services. This ministry is open to all baptized children entering the fourth grade through High School.

Flower Guild

Flower Guild members purchase and arrange the flowers for our worship services. Donations are made by parishioners who desire to have flowers on the altar on a particular Sunday.

Altar Guild

Altar Guild members prepare the church for worship and care for the altar linens and vessels.

Eucharist Ministers

Lay Eucharist Ministers assist during services by administering the chalice at communion.

Lectors

Lectors are those members who read the appointed scripture and lead the prayers during worship.

Musicians

Detailed information about music ministry may be found under the Music section.

Ushers

Ushers assist in the worship by greeting people, receiving the offertory and directing people at communion.

Vergers

Vergers are those who assist in the logistics of the liturgy.
