Pentecost in the Park

SAVE THE DATE! - (5/31) St. Paul's will commemorate Pentecost (the birthday of the Church) with a joyful celebration like only our parish can. It's going to be a very special day as we gather in the park for Holy Eucharist, lots of music, and a true St. Paul's feast. Everyone will be encouraged to come wearing red and anticipating a truly amazing time of worship and fellowship with our parish family. There will only be one service that day at 10:00 at the Newnan Utilities Cabin Park located off Leigh Road. Directions coming north on Roscoe Road - turn left onto Leigh Road, go to the stop sign, turn left and proceed through the gates. The church will provide Friend Chicken, paper products and drinks. Please bring the following:If you last name ends in A-H, bring a nessert; I-R, bring a side dish/vegetable; S-Z bring a salad. Consecration Sunday - One Service at 10:00!

Next Sunday will be an important day in the life of our parish. It is the day that we offer our financial pledges and tithes for the 2010 year. This year the congregation is invited, as guests of the parish, to a luncheon at Arbor Springs Country Club following the 10:30 service. The only requirement is that you sign-up for the lunch. We will be calling those who do not hand in a luncheon reservation. REMEMBER - only one service on November 8th at 10:00!

Advent Wreath Workshop

On Wednesday, November 18th, following the Wednesday Night supper, we will have supplies available to make your advent wreath for home use. So that we know how many kits to purchase please sign-up on the "Here I Am, Lord" bulleitin board. The kits are $6.00/each. And if you want to come to supper that night, please sign-up on the clipboard under the "Here I Am, Lord" bulletin board.

Thanksgiving Eve Service

We will have a Thanksgiving Eve service on Wednesday, November 25th at 7:00 pm. You will be invited to share thanksgivings at the time of the homily. Please be thinking of what you would like to say at that time.

Annual Parish Meeting

The annual meeting will be held on Sunday, December 13th beginning with a pot-luck supper at 5:00. The agenda for this meeting will include team reports, financial report, vestry and diocesan council elections. Biographies of the nominees will be mailed out prior to the meeting. Please review them before coming to the meeting.

Community Lenten Service

March 3rd - Cornerstone United Methodist Church

The services begin at noon followed by a $5.00 donation lunch. The offering collected at the service will be divided between Haiti Relief and the Coweta Samaritan Clinic.

Safeguarding God's Children

On Sunday, March 7th, Randy Winton and Katy Crow will offer this mandatory class on Safeguarding God's Children. This certification class is required by our diocese for all people who work with children in the church setting. That would include, but not be limited to, Vacation Bible School teachers and helpers, Christian Education teachers and helpers, Vestry members, acolyte helpers, etc. If you have not had the class previously, please sign-up with Randy or Katy to attend. It will be held after the 10:30 service from 12:00 noon to 2:00 pm. Lunch will be provided. If you cannot attend the Sunday session, Safeguarding God's Children will be offered in two sessions at the Diocesan Ministry Fair on March 6th. You must register for these classes as well.
